A professional actor who began studying the craft while in high school, Dohanic received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance from the University of Central Florida then headed to NYC to continue his training in the theatre capital of the world. Not long after, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where his growth and success continued in the TV & Film Industry with minor parts until landing the role of FOSTER – a recurring character on the hit CBS TV series CSI: MIAMI.
Dan Skinner, manager of the Oneonta Theatre, is excited to be hosting the event; commenting that the controversial social drama of A COWBOY’S BLOOD is, “original and somewhat dangerous. The fact that Mr. Dohanic and his partners are planning to film this on location in our region is a great opportunity for our community.”
Dohanic will be joined by Producing Partner Tom Archdeacon and they will oversee the project under the formation of Cool Bull Productions, LLC.
Archdeacon is an award winning independent filmmaker with credits in writing, producing, directing and acting. His most recent production, the indie romantic comedy, WALK A MILE IN MY PRADAS, landed Archdeacon both domestic and foreign distribution deals. “I’ve known Tom a long time,” says Dohanic, “his producing know-how is going to give this film a tremendous level of efficiency.”
“I’m excited,” Dohanic continues. “The vast variety of landscape scenery in the surrounding region will serve this film greatly. The story takes place in the 1930’s and a major plot element is the lead characters journey across several state lines starting in New Jersey and ending in Missouri; from our local mountain ranges to our open meadows – we’ll have a lot to choose from, not to mention the abundance of building structures that will be easy to stand in for the Great Depression architecture of the time.”
Although it was originally intended for select film investors and industry professionals, Dohanic stresses that ALL ARE WELCOMEto attend the screening at the Oneonta Theatre;admission will be free. Though the film is unrated, it is an Adults Only admission ages 21 and up. The Oneonta Theatre is pleased to welcome John Scarpulla Band with special guests Honest Mistakes on Friday, June 8.
Raised in New York City, John Scarpulla began playing subway stations and bars in and around Manhattan in his early twenties. His songwriting has evolved over the past 15 years from intimate walks through the blue-black city streets and barrooms of New York City to autumn brown country roads paved with gratitude.
Scarpulla has a loyal grassroots fan base, and continuously tours throughout the northeast. His sound is best described by jazz bassist Joe Fonda as, “true lyrical poetry that is rooted in the blues and has a deep groove.” The music is seamless and moves effortlessly between powerful testimonials of love and redemption and mournful ballads of regret and perseverance.
With the band, John’s music achieves new power and depth. Guitarist Brian Shafer, drummer Sam Doyle, and bassist Michael Sharick, are all originally from Stamford, NY, and Shafer and Doyle appear on Scarpulla’s 2010 album, Before the Streetlights Come On. Josh Hathaway of Blog Critics wrote that there is a truly unique quality to Scarpulla’s music that honors blues, soul, pop and Americana at the same time.
Scarpulla credits the longevity of the careers of his influences such as Van Morrison, Joe Cocker and Neil Young to their uncompromising honesty and individuality. Good music outlasts trends and maintains its integrity way after the sweet first bite of the flavor of the month.
John has released two albums: Blue Ruin (2008), and Before the Streetlights Come On (2010). A full band live album is expected in Spring 2012.

Blessed with one of his generation’s great voices, he is also a world-class songwriter, penning hits for artists including Trace Adkins and Justin Moore, and a seasoned entertainer known for the passion and energy he brings to every performance.
His debut album, Anything Goes, introduced him as an exceptional artist, someone with both a cutting-edge sound and a deep respect for classic country. Fans, media and peers alike recognized that he possesses an artistic vision equal to his formidable talent.
The strong reaction to his music was evident when David Letterman heard the album’s powerful first single, “Anything Goes,” and invited Randy to perform on the Late Show, introducing him to an even broader nationwide audience. “I put my heart into this, and the result is something I’m really proud of.” From the beginning, Randy and co-producers Cliff Audretch III and Mark Wright agreed on a straightforward approach that focused on the meaningful lyrics of the songs. “I want to catch people’s ears not just with a guitar hook, but with the words. I didn’t want too much going on around it.”
The result, recorded with Randy’s own band, rather than studio musicians, is a stark and straightforward effort that does full justice to an artist heavily influenced by the classic works of idols like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Waylon Jennings.
The album covers a great deal of musical and thematic ground. Randy includes pure fun, rowdy, foot-stomping tracks like “Out Here in the Country” and “Whistlin’ Dixie,” but also manages to capture the ups and downs of love on other tracks, demonstrating his artistic range. The naked need of “Addicted” calls forth a yearning that only Randy’s vocals could somberly deliver.

Weston Burt knows his story may have a familiar beginning, but the 26-year-old singer from Fort Payne, Alabama, hopes his career plays out more like a Great American novel when it’s all said and done. Like so many other aspiring artists that have made their way to Nashville to pursue their dreams, Weston first discovered his love for Country music through the influence of his parents, who introduced the youngster to family favorites like Alabama, Willie Nelson and the iconic Garth Brooks.
With songs about faith and the joys and hardships of the common Southern man, Weston’s life is an accurate reflection of the songs he sings. After signing a production deal with Ramblin’ Music in November 2010, Weston began working with award winning songwriter and producer Cliff Downs. The Alabama singer-songwriter is focused intently on his next project, a full album tentatively titled Round Here. The project is scheduled for a late 2011 or early 2012 release.
Weston says his goal is simple: “To provide music that all ages can enjoy and provide a live show that takes people’s breath away. I love when someone comes up to me and tells me that they enjoy my music or that it has helped them through a tough time. To me, that’s what music is all about – helping others.”

In his new single, “Honky Tonk Road Trip” (co-written with Country Weekly’s Larry Holden) Rick Monroe paints a vivid picture Through his artistry, Monroe creates a clear visual about a musician who hits the road, performing at every honky tonk he can find to wash away the pain of a broken heart only to find there was perfection waiting for him right around the corner. While not completely autobiographical, Rick Monroe is certainly a Country Music Road warrior who isn’t adverse to taking his music directly to the people. Rick says, “You know all those reality shows on TV… my life IS a reality show.”

Plans for 2012 include getting back in the studio to record their fourth album (2011′s release “Coaster” featured 14 original compositions) and appearances at concert halls clubs and festivals across the Northeast and possibly a return to the West Tour.
2011 was been a busy year for The Horseshoe Lounge Playboys, who performed many concerts and clubs including concerts with The Levon Helm Band, Arlo Gutherie and his band and Steve Earle. The Levon Helm / Arlo Gutherie show was a special concert on May 13, 2011 in front of 3,000 anti-fracking supporters. Also, HLP’s Randy Miritello wrote the theme song “Hole in the Mountain” which was performed and recorded by HLP for the film “Mineville.”
HLP headlined regional festivals and joined the likes of Levon Helm, Arlo Gutherie, Ricky Skaggs, Steve Earle, Leon Redbone, Maria Muldaur, John Gorka, etc. on the stages of Concert Series and Festivals, received standing ovations (thank you very much), sold out both their first album “One Horse Town” and a self-produced “live” CD titled “Bootleg” and released “Coaster” in March 2011.
In 2009 HLP won Imprint Radio’s “Best Live Performance of 2009″ award. The band is currently working on another album of all original material to be released in 2012. The band performs primarily in the Northeast U.S. with several tours of the Southwest: Colorado (Denver, Boulder, Golden, Ft. Collins, Creste Butte, Breckenridge, Nederland, etc), Laramie WY, Arizona (all over), New Mexico and Chicago, IL.

GET THE LED OUT was formed in 2003 when a couple of Philadelphia-area musicians contacted Paul Sinclair about singing in a Led Zeppelin project they were trying to get off the ground. Sinclair, who had spent the majority of his musical career performing in his own original band “Sinclair,” had reservations about joining a ‘tribute’ act. “I had no interest in going the impersonator route,” says Sinclair. “I’ve always found it a bit hokey. I was much more intrigued by the thought of playing this music that I loved so much, and playing it accurately. With ALL the instrumentation.”
Enter guitarist Paul Hammond who shared a musical partnership with Sinclair that dated back to their teen years. Together they wrote songs, released albums and earned their rock and roll wings on the East Coast club scene. It was only natural that Sinclair would recruit Hammond for the latest rock journey. “I knew Paul [Hammond] would add the stability and musical chops needed to pull this off,” Sinclair explains. “Besides guitar, he plays many other stringed-instruments and even played keyboards in an early incarnation of the band.”
Sinclair’s vision of performing on stage as themselves and doing the studio versions of the Zep catalog was not a popular concept with other early members in the band. “In the beginning, some of the guys wanted to do the look-a-like thing. Akin to a version of the movie ‘The Song Remains The Same.’ Those guys have since moved on to other things,” says Sinclair.
With the Pauls in place and the addition of Adam Ferraioli on drums, Jimmy Marchiano on guitar, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Lipke (keys, guitar, vocals, percussion etc.), and Billy Childs on bass, GTLO’s mission finally came into focus: to recreate on stage the complete sound of Led Zeppelin’s recordings with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed live. Oh, and without the wigs. “It turns out that our approach is the very thing that separates us from all the other Zeppelin acts out there. I’d like to say that it was a real savvy business decision, but truth be told it’s just the only way I could see doing it.”
GTLO took the show on the road in 2004 with debut performances in major theatres, PACs, festivals and concert venues throughout the East. “I remember our first time at Penn’s Peak (a 1700 seat national concert venue in Jim Thorpe, PA),” recalls Sinclair. “I was concerned about attendance because we had not yet made a name for ourselves. But then 1000 people showed up. We knew we were onto something. Now we sell the place out. I guess it goes to show the power of this music…and hopefully a little something about the band that’s playing it.”
Now dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” GTLO presents a two hour + set each night that spans the mythic career of the legendary British supergroup. And with it, they are achieving strong box office scores throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Not uncommon are return-visits and sell-outs at a number of the region’s most prominent venues and PACs including The Nokia Theater (NYC Times Square), House of Blues (Boston and Atlantic City), Pennsylvania’s Sovereign Center and Keswick Theatre, and Oswego New York’s “Harborfest” as well as countless others.
